Aabroo is a 1956 Indian Bollywood romance, social film released on Jan 01, 1956. The film is directed by Chaturbhuj Doshi.
Barrister P.K. Anand (Ashok Kumar) was a staunch believer in the high- est integirity of chanracter and principles, and believed in duty above all else. He practised in Srinvager and God had blesses him with all that could be desired for a happy life. He had his affectionate wife Tilotama (Nirupa Roy0 his only younger brother Manish (Deepak Kumar) highly devoted to him and a very faithful friend Shekhar (Rehman) who lived in Jammu. . When Dr.Manish returned from aborad the met and fell in love with a charming college girl Nina (Vimi). They pledged eternal love to each o ther. Colleges closed and during the holidays Nina went to Jammu to visit her elder sister Sharda (Leela Naidu), who happened to be Shekhars wife. At Shekhars home, all was not well. Sharda, whom he loved dearly, was childless and Shekhars uncle (Jeevan), who knew the weakness of Shekhars mother (Lalita Pawar) for a grandson, played upon this as ruse to further his own ends. He introduced Shanta (Shashikala) into the household and began playing upon his old sister mind to have Shekhar remarried. . Events take an unexpected turn when Sharda dies mysteriously and on her deathbed, places her husbands hand in Ninas. Bound by tradition and honour, Nina had to marry Shekhar. . Sublimely unaware of this, and longing only to meet his sweetheart again, Dr. Manish went gladly on a transfer to Jammu as a Doctor at the City Hospital there. Barrister Anand had asked Shekhar to put up Manish at his home. . When Dr. Manish arrived at Shekhars house he was stunned to find Nina but already married. He was heartbroken, but he pledged that because "Greater than a Mans Love is a Womans Aabroo" he would even die for it.
