Story
Aaj Ki Taaqat (Re) is a 1993 Indian Bollywood film released on 1993. Aaj Ki Taaqat is a story of two very strong young men, Gautam and Shiva, who are forced by circumstances to turn to a life of crime. Gautam is in love with the daughter of a very rich man who is also the Don of the underworld. Gautams sister and brother-in-law are killed by the Don when he comes to know about Gautams relationship with his daughter. After the murders, Gautam kills all the murderes and after being aquitted due to lack of evidence, he becomes one of the main Dadas of the area. Meanwhile, Shiva, a powerful young man, is unable to tolerate the behaviour meted out by his father towards his mother. His father is a good for nothing fellow, who not only harassed his mother, but also used to take away all her earnings and used to beat her for no rhyme or reason. On one of such occasions his father accidently kills his mother which Shiva is not able to tolerate and he hits his father resulting in his death. In the court it is proved that his fathers death was not a murder but was accident and he is acquitted. After being acquitted by the court Shiva tries to get a job so that he can lead a peaceful life, but he is not given any job because of his having been involved in his fathers death. . Finally when he is totally frustarted, Shiva is approached by Taneja, one of the leaders of the underworld, asking him to work for him to and since there is no choice, Shiva agrees. Since Gautam is the person who has dislodged Tanejas group from the area, Taneja asks Shiva to get rid of Gautam. When the two clash they find that both of them are equally powerful and they decide to join hands because, when individually they are so powerful then when they joins hands they will be invincible. After joining hands both of them realise that being Dadas does not mean suppressing the people but it means solving the troubles by them. They help all the people and in course of things they come across Geeta a girl who is being forced to dance in discos by her brother and they rescue her. Taneja who comes to know their joining hands decides eliminate them, but they survive and succeed in looting Tanejas consignment of drugs. Taneja becomes furious as he feels that his consignment has been looted by the Don and he kidnaps the Dons daughter. The Don rescues his daughter and arranges to kill Taneja. Meanwhile, Gautam and shiva meet an informer who informs them about the various consignments of gold of the Don which are looted by them and they use the wealth so accumulated for solving the problems being faced by the poor people of the region. After becoming rich, Gautam decides to go and meet Dons daughter whom he loves so much and for whose aske he has taken to a life of crime, but when he goes to meet her he finds that unknown to him, she has expired in a plane crash. When he comes to know this he becomes heart broken. In this state of mind Gautam happens to meet Priya who gives him solace and puts love again in his life. Meanwhile, Geeta and Shiva fall in love with each other and decide to marry. Meanwhile, the Don comes to know that his consignments are being looted by Shiva and Gautam and he orders to get rid of them. As soon as Gautam and Shiva know that the Don is behind the attempts of their lives, they decide to confront the Don the Don and tell him stop his illegal activities. When the Don refused to do so, they take their friends and people and attack each one of the Dons illegal joins and raze them to the ground. The don is not able to tolerate such incidnts and plans a finasl assault. The don is eliminated by the people of the Basti who become aware that evil can end only if everyone acts against it and that it is a crime to terrorise someone and it is also a crime to be terrorised and it is even a bigger crime to stand and watch someone terrorising anyone.
