This is a story of a peaceul town where in last 50 years not a single crime took place. In this town a temple of Devi is known for its virtue for the lovers. Every year many love birds visit it for praying and seeking blessings of this pious diety. Devi temple is looked after by trustee of the temple Ambanath Kathuria (Deven Verma) and Acharyaji (Pran). They organize a Feista every year at the eve of Sharad Purnima when all the pilgrims and local folk celebrate the night whole heartedly. Acharyaji has two daughters. Elder Ragini (Shabanam) who looks after the affairs of temple with her father and works in the local cooperative store run by the Secretary Mr. Aggarwal (Virendra Rajdan). Younger Sonu (Tanya Singh) is studying in college and staying with her aunt. Famous Hotel of the town owned by Kapoor Sahib (Shammi Kapoor) is not running well because of poor turnover of the tourists. This caused a financial set back to Mr. Kapoor who is under heavy debts of local banker Khanna (Prem Chopra) Mr. Kapoor call his nephew Chand (Kishan Kumar) who is a playback singer and stage performer for his rescue. Ragini loves Chand. While Chand does not love her as he is waiting for a right companion enter in his life. On the contrary Ragini is loved by Chandu (Sunil Lahiri) a local tourist taxi owner, to whom Ragini never loved. Ruby (Poonam Das Gupta) the Hotel Dancer also loves Chand, to whom Chand considers only a good friend. . Like every year on Sharad Purnima when the whole of the town is celebrating the auspicious day. Some body kills Ragini in Kapoors hotel. This turns this peaceful towns upside down. Police Commissionr Anees Jung (Manohar Singh) and Inspector Dave (Namdev) are all set to find out the culprit. They suspect Chand, Chander and Hotel waiter Charlie (Shiva) simultaneously they enlist many others, C.B.I. officer Anil Sharma (Girish Malik) joins the envestigating group. . Kapoor Sahibs hotel business downs and further Chand suggest him to organize a dance competition to attract tourists to this forgotten city by the Tourists. While all the perparation for dance competition are advancing.
