Ab Tak Chhappan 2 is solely dependent on Nana Patekar and he doesn’t disappoint, but he alone is not enough to save a film that is almost a replica of the original. However, it offers thrilling scenes and a good first half. On second thoughts, I think it works in the wrong way because the first half raises the expectations and then the film loses the steam. Still, it’s not an unwatchable film. You’ll like it if you don’t want it to compete with LA Confidential or Training Day or Sehar or Ardh Satya.Read full review2.5

…may lack the subtle cynicism and insinuated acrimony of Shimit Amin’s original. It is nonetheless a gripping gaatha dunked in gore and violence about the blurred line between the law and lawlessness.Read full review2.0

Nana Patekar is at his blistering best, even though he is shown ageing in the sequel. He is still sharp and agile, putting his younger teammates to shame. For his fans, this is a must watch.Read full review2.0

Ab Tak Chappan 2 is such a bad news. Director Aejaz Gulab and writer Nilesh Girkar commit a heinous triple crime of screwing two movies at one go and in the process screw a remarkably earnest and honest effort of an actor like Nana Patekar go waste by making such a sequel to Shimit Amin’s cult crime epic.Read full review2.0

In Bollywood, even though the film sequels have become a trend of sorts, there have been many films whose sequels have fared well as much as the original film itself. On the other hand, a few films' sequels have bombed miserably at the box-office. This week's release AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2, as the name suggests, is the sequel to 2004 film AB TAK CHHAPPAN. Will the sequel be as strong and powerful as the original? Let's find out.Read full review1.5

A decade after ‘Ab Tak Chappan’ was released, this apology of a sequel brutally kills the original. Shoddy production qualities, uneven background music, jaded dialogues and pointless, unimaginative script scheme together to make this sequel a bit of a disaster.Read full review1.5

For an action drama, there is a lot of talk in Ab Tak Chhappan 2 but not all of it is worth a listen. Obviously, Patekar’s Agashe has the best lines as he shoots wisecracks and indulges in sardonic talk. Some of it draws a few laughs, making it the only redeeming bit of the film.Read full review1.5

Does Ab Tak Chhappan have any redeeming feature at all? Well, it has no songs. But, then, who would feel like singing when trapped in a darkened hall where Ab Tak Chhappan 2 is playing? Stay away unless you are a diehard Nana Patekar fan.Read full review1.5

Before the movie began, the trailer of Dev Patel’s upcoming film Chappie was shown. Trust me, that two and a half minutes trailer was way better than this full film. If you are a Nana Patekar fan, go watch Shimit Amin’s Ab Tak Chappan than the sequel!Read full review1.0

This kind of film can work if it has a new spin on an old story. But the cop who gets busy notching up kills, without making us wonder about the morality of someone taking it upon themselves to exterminate humans, is a cipher. So is the film. And the worst part? It’s full of blips, everyone’s lips going silent, as soon as, presumably, a cussword comes along.Oh our delicate ears.Read full review1.0

… there’s just one feature of this film that allows the viewer to sit through its agonizing two hours – Nana Patekar. The veteran actor pulls out all stops in action, dialogue delivery and even scenes of sparse comedy. But how long can even the most industrious captain sail a sinking ship? Ab Tak Chappan 2 goes down without a trace. Even Ram Gopal Varma’s worst film has more cinematic nuance than this rookie mistake.Read full review
