Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Abartan (1936)
The rich zamindar Gauridas not getting any news of his last son Nirmal Kumar, placed all his property in the custody of his friend Debidas before his death. After the death of Gouridas, Debidas tried hard to search for Nirmal but in vain. After some time Debidas also died after which his daughter Bijali became the owner of all the property. Debidas’ lawyer Beni Basu became Bijali's guardian. Nirmal came back to Calcutta from Rangoon. While he was in Rangoon he got the news of his father’s death. He also got the news that his father had placed the custody of the property on Debidas but when he went to Debidas’ house, the latter was already dead. The huge property of Bijali excited Beni Basu and he couldn’t resist himself from the temptation of that property. So he arranged the marriage of Bijali with his relative Sarat Mitra. When the marriage between Bijali and Sarat was almost settled there appeared on the scene who else but Nirmal. Beni Basu and Sarat became worried and tried to hatch a conspiracy whcih ultimately failed leading to Bijali and Nirmal ultimately getting united.
