In about 143 minutes, ABCD tries to catch the emotions, aspirations, rebellions and values the contemporary Indian youth so cherishes.

It's easy to go overboard when you are in love with a subject, but Remo keeps his motives clear, and the film brisk. Editor Manan Sagar 'cuts' and 'fits' to give you the thrills and a perfect flow in the narration.

ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE has some incredible, eye-popping dances as its soul. While the template may be conventional -- the triumph of the underdog -- the film has its share of moments that stay with you, especially the concluding portions of the film. Decent watch!

With India's first 3D Dance film, Remo puts his best foot forward. The film lacks dramatic-density, but the minute dance breaks in, all hell breaks loose. This isn't a 'step-up' from anything you've seen before. The 3D impresses in parts with predictable routines, but he pitches the emotional tempo towards the end. The grand finale act is spectacular, better than all reality shows strung together.

If you enjoy some cool, snazzy dance and can look past the largely decorative acting, this is actually a movie worth a watch. I give it a slightly generous 3 stars, largely because of the overwhelming positivity in the script and the loudly subtle happy-ending.

Prabhu Deva is a delight to watch, whether dancing or just grinning cutely. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see him dancing much except at the very end, when credits roll. We do, however, see him mentor street kids, make an emotional plea to an angry father, and give inspiring speeches to kids when they are down and out.

Dance flicks rarely aim at narrating path breaking stories, and director Remo D'Souza knows. The thrust here is on capturing the groove. Remo- himself an ace choreographer- lets Prabhudeva create his magic and also elicits some mesmerising moves from the young bunch in the cast he has assorted from sundry reality TV dance shows.

…the best thing you can say about this film is that it’s earnest. It could have been so much more.

At 2 hours and 20 minutes, 'ABCD' is too long. There's some genuinely original choreography up there, but it's lost in a plodding film with characters you couldn't care about. I'm going with a generous two out of five for 'ABCD'. Even if it's true what this film claims - that anybody can dance, it also provides evidence that the same is not true of acting!

Given that his hoofing skills are incomparable, Prabhu Deva would have done a movie like this sooner or later. Actually, he should have done it sooner. Because 'ABCD' is a dance movie that follows genre conventions so faithfully that there is no novelty in it. Cocky studio owner Jehnagir ( Kay Kay ) who is convinced attitude is everything and 'mediocrity sells'. Full-of-heart-and-talent Vishu ( Prabhu Deva), who believes everyone can dance, and the way

Take your pick. There is a whole lot of dancing talent on show here. It is the packaging that lets down the performers -- and the viewers. And why, pray, is this film in 3-D? It isn't about Pina Bausch and Remo D'Souza is no Wim Wenders.
