Abhinoy 1938

Abhinoy is a 1938 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on Sep 03, 1938. The film is directed by Madhu Bose, produced by Bharat Lakshmi Pictures under banner named Sree Bharat Lakshmi Pictures.

Hirak Roy was young jamindar of Kishangarh. He saw a photograph of Manisha Choudhury ina anews paper. Manisha had bcame first in the beauty contest. Hirak told his friends that he knew that girl. His father Pitamber Choudhury used to teach her in her childhood. Hs friends did not belive him. Hirak married Manisha and proved his friends worng. After some years Hirak lost all his interest in Manisha, ajd there grew a gap in their relation. On the birthday of Manisha, a drama 'Sakintala' written by Pitamber Choudhury was organised where Hirak would play Dushyant and Manisha will play the role of Sakuntala. The king of Ratnagarh and his daughter Ratna were invited. Hirak was abuot to marry Ratna. But due to misunderstanding that could not happen. On that occasion Hirak met Ratna. Both of them understood their mistake. Again their old lore blossomed. Minasha realised the whole thing. So she left Hirak's house. She could not never return to her father also. So a false news of her suicide was spreaded. After a few days later a new heroine Indrani of Kach-Debjani Theatres came ion talk on the town. Seeing the photographs of Indrani Hirak immideatly recognised her as Manisha. He tried to meet Indrani any how. Bur Manisha did not gave him any importance to him. Spending a huge amount of money Hirak became the propriter of Metropolitan Theatre. Both of them appeared for the drama Sakuntala. Manisha as Sakuntala and Hiral alias Basab Roy as Dushyanta. Hirak told Ratna that Indrani was evcery thing in his life. But Hirak could not tell her that Indrani was actually Manisha, his past wife. Both of them decided that they wouldn't act anymore. It was Saturday, the last show of Sakuntala would start at any moment. Manisha had invited her fath-in-law Pitamber to see that play. She had a wish in her mind that after the end of the show along with Hirak she would seek the blessings of his father-in-law and reveal to her that she is still alive, and then they will leave for Kishangarh with his father-in-law Pitamber. After the show when Manisha was removing her make up in the dressing room, there came Ratna. She requested Manisha to leave Hirak, and she was ready to give all her belongings. Ratna told her that she was also Hirak's betrayed wife. Manisha slowly went out the dressing room leaving Ratna inside.
