Our verdict is that ‘Housefull 3’ is a full-on family entertainer. After all, there is no harm in giving logic a small break for a while.

Housefull 3 is neither the best comedy film in Bollywood nor it aims to be. Yet, it is the best film of the franchise (not that there is much to aim there…), as it is far more entertaining and funnier than its predecessors. Go for it, if you like mindless entertainers, and I am sure you will not be disappointed!Bye bye Sajid Khan, you will NOT be missed at all!

If you have seen the two earlier installments of this franchise, you already know that is purely a ‘leave-your-brains-behind’ affair. The premise is a comedy of errors. But unlike Gulzar’s gem Angoor (1982), this one is not about twins. It’s so convoluted, it will make Shakespeare turn in his grave.

Housefull 3 is mad, irreverent and funny. And it has Akshay Kumar’s outstanding return to comedy in one of his finest performances. Go for it.

…has all the constituents of an archetypal Hindi masala movie with hilarity, absurdity, humour, gags and punches in abundance. The film is a madcap entertainer which delivers guffaws, belly laughs and over-the-top slapstick humour in gigantic proportion. The film however is bound to get diverse reactions from the audiences. If you admire and relish these entertainers, and are passionate about cinema of this variety, then HOUSEFULL 3 is definitely a stress buster for you. Else, you can stay away from this. At the Box-Office, HOUSEFULL 3 will appeal only to the masses, the aam aadmi, who relish hardcore masala movies.

The tale of three losers with some nifty get-rich-quick-scheme is one of those films that defies logic. As long as you don’t look for sense in this one, you are safe.

Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh will tickle your funny bone!If only you can manage to check your brains at the entrance of the movie hall!

…the film ends up as a decent stress-buster due to its combination of slapstick and situational comedy. More than the script, it is the actors who go that extra mile in this matter, led of course by Akshay Kumar as the wannabe sportsman with split personality disorder.

Sajid-Farhad had ample opportunities to make a genuinely campy situational comedy but bungled it. The actors involved try their hardest to rise above the material given to them. They are all at ease with each other and a little more directorial effort would have made it a nice ensemble film. 

…may still find patronage among Akshay Kumar’s die-hard fans and those who can laugh at anything. Leaving the rest to pray that this may be the ‘Aakhri Pasta’ (the last installment) of this no brainer that was once upon a time an entertainer…

This is not a politically correct film by any standards and is quite unapologetic about it, except for a forced, unwittingly hilarious scene where the girls talk about kindness towards handicapped people.

Housefull 3 is a no-brainer that can be enjoyed only by fans of Akshay. For people seeking for good jokes, check into one of your WhatsApp groups!

At some point, inevitably, the cinema screen in the dark hall starts competing with your little cellphone screen. Which is only fair. As our phones get smarter, our humour clearly appears to be getting dumber.

In all, if you laugh at almost anything, you could go watch this movie. Or if you worship Akshay Kumar or have really nothing to do and can bear some Bollywood cliché, go watch it.

There are a few scenes in which the lunacy hits the mark, but they are painfully infrequent. At one point Sandy, pretending to be wheelchair-bound, lunges at Bakul’s feet, saying: ‘Wheel payna papaji’. I had to laugh. The men – Akshay, Riteish and Abhishek Bachchan – all seem to be having fun and their energy keeps the engine running. But it’s not enough. And did I mention that Chunky Pandey reprises his role as Aakhri Pasta. In one scene, he appears disguised as the paravarik jyotish Akhri Aasta.It’s very tiring.

Though not as much of a riot as Welcome or Khiladi 786, you can count on the star cast and the crazy set-up to give you a good time.

The onus is eventually on Akshay, Riteish and Abhishek to give the film some direction. But all that they do is flow along with the mindless tale, often hitting dead-ends from where there can be no return to sanity.Housefull 3 is strictly for fans of the franchise. Are there any left?

Unfortunately, Housefull 3 is so utterly brainless that it would be our stupidity to talk about technicalities here. From weak storyline to a series of plotholes, from repetitive comic sequences to a poor VFX, the film has a long list of demerits, which makes it fall flat on its face!

Fans will happily rubbish reviews, this and we assure you many more, saying that critics are a bunch of grumpy people who don’t know how to take a joke. Haaa…critics are just people who find impossible to use their brains depending on a film’s genre. Movies are either good, bad or ugly and Housefull 3 is tragically ugly. Housefull 3 cracked horrible jokes.Housefull 3 offended.

Housefull 3’s second most remarkable piece of acting comes from an army of CGI ants. To divulge more would be such a spoiler so I’ll refrain.

Well Akshay, sorry to say this. But this is the most flaccid comedy of your career.

When a delightful Hollywood black comedy like The Nice Guys is playing in the theatre next to this movie, you wish you could get up and sneak into the other movie. But you are so deadened by the unfunny situational comedy unfolding in front that you just wait it out, let the movie die its slow painful death.

If your idea of humour is red ants crawling over a disabled man’s crotch or an old man farting as he mounts a bike or a blind man being asked to jump into a waterless pool, then I have two things for you.1.       You need help.2.       God bless you. 

Jacqueline, Lisa and Nargis playing lassies in short skirts going by the name Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati, coming up with the worst lines ever…

While the pace of the film is generally healthy, its comic energy flags every so often. Housefull 3 is salvaged somewhat by a wacky climax in a warehouse of wax models.But that isn’t enough to dispel the bitter aftertaste of a first half dominated by unpalatable gags

Predictably, it all ends with an imbecilic climax that, within the Universal Spectrum of Silliness, lies between ‘Scooby Doo’ and ‘Priyadarshan’. But then, it seems that Sajid-Farhad are content to stay in this space: it’s clearly working out for them. Meanwhile, the search for a truly good silly comedy from Bollywood continues.

It’s a miracle, we walked out, unharmed.But, we wouldn’t dare to ask you to take such a risk. Stay away, you’ll thank us later. Trust us.

The indolence in the writing of Housefull 3 is best illustrated by the profusion of self-referential jokes in the film. I mean, c’mooooooonnnnn, how many times are we expected to be amused by Deshmukh breaking into Marathi in the heat of a moment? Is it really laugh-worthy that he addresses his girlfriend Jenny a.k.a. Jamuna in the film as Genelia? Yawn. And how many mentions of the Bachchan familywill we hear around Abhishek? C’mooooonnnnn, think of something new!

Housefull 3 is an entertainer all the way. It will keep the audience laughing in the cinemas, and the producers and distributors laughing all the way to the bank.

The tongue-in-cheek, slapstick comedy gets the job done – it ensures ample laughs. Watch it for Akshay Kumar, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff and Riteish Deshmukh. The film is a family entertainer and is a good choice for a one-time watch.

Race, colour, the differently abled — “Housefull 3″ spares no one, and if you are not offended by the end, you are likely to be bored out of your mind because it isn’t even funny.

One can’t quite go looking for political correctness in such a film. But Housefull3, doesn’t know where it wants to stand on issues. No wonder after cracking many a joke at the physically challenged its attempt to redeem itself in the end seems half baked and forced. The film’s stand on racism is also just as confused.

The filmmakers have aimed to deliver a puerile movie, and, in fact, will be offended by any discussion about Housefull 3 that does not involve its box office prospects. We are in the mythical “critics will hate it but audiences will love it” zone, and since the movie aims to be nothing more than a weekend moneyspinner, it is accordingly forgettable and disposable.

There’s no point writing about the performances. They’re all on an extended British holiday, being paid to behave like sugar-addled nincompoops at a funfair. What’s not to love? (or hate, if you’ve paid for a ticket to watch rich stars vacationing abroad)
