Story
The story of ‘Ishqiya’ starts with Khalu (Naseeruddin Shah) and his nephew, Babban (Arshad Warsi), who escape with money which belonged to Mushtaq (Rajesh Sharma), the previous Lucknow-founded brother-in-law. Expecting to re-locate to Nepal with assistance of Gorakhpur-founded Vidyadhar Verma, they find that he is down with, and for the time being take accommodation with his good-looking widow, Krishna. Mushtaq soon localises and agonies them till they agree to give the cash back. When they go to regain it, they find it lost, and he gives them time till Raksha Bandhan to give it back. Powerless to loosen the secret of the lost money, the unfortunate pair is now despairingly in love with Krishna, agree to kidnap Ghaziabad-founded capitalist, Kamalkant Kakkad.
