Mehboob Ki Mehndi 1971

Mehboob Ki Mehndi is a 1971 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1971. The film is directed by H. S. Rawail, produced by H. S. Rawail.

Yusuf lives a wealthy lifestyle with his businessman dad, Safdarjang, who is confined to a wheel-chair. When Yusuf's precocious nephew, Khalid alias Phirangi's tutor, Mrs. Albert complains about him and quits, Yusuf hires Shabana, who along with her granny, have come to live with them for a short period of time. He also hires a man named Khairudin as a servant to look after his dad. Yusuf and Shabana are attracted to each other and intend to marry, much to the joy of Safdarjang and the granny. The wedding preparations are on, but there are a couple things Yusuf and his family do not know. One is that Shabana is the daughter of a Courtesan named Najma; and that Khairudin has secured employment in order to kill Yusuf.

Shabana (Leena Chandavarkar) though she does not know it, is the daughter of a woman who, through force of circumstances, was compelled to take to the profession of a dancing girl. One day, told that her daughter is to be confronted with the truth, the woman commits suicide The man who had ruined her mothers life, now tries to ruin the daughters also. . But Shabana was a faithful attendant. With his old woman, she flees, and they find shelter in Lucknow, in the house of a good friend. His name is Nawab Moo Bole (Farooq) a comic-type of poet, who has a college friend named Yusuf (Rajesh Khanna). . Yusuf falls in love with Shabana and their marriage seems to be headed for smooth sailing. But there are many storm - clouds gathering. . Who is that strange old man (Pradeep Kumar) for instance, whom Shabana had befriended on the train journey. He come at dead of night to murder Yusuf. And grudge has he towards Yusufs father (Iftekhar). And what is that strange bond of affection which grows between Shabana and this mysterious old man. These are making a lot of questions. . Then again on the eve of the wedding of Shabana with Yusuf, the evil man who had ruined Shabanas mothers life, enters her life too, threatening to expose her past.
