When a film is outright abominable, the reviewer wants to draw out his daggers. He spends time on finding innovative ways to poke at the disgrace. Both cases make for interesting writing experiences.

Three of the four songs are recreations of older hits and pop-up dutifully when there’s a lull in the screenplay. The background score refuses to die down and accompanies you throughout the movie. There is no justifiable reason to recommend this one.

All shortcomings of a film can be forgiven if it manages to entertain. But Wajah Tum Ho’s just isn’t able to cut it on that front. Even the songs Pal pal dilke paas, Mahi ve and Aise na mujhe tum dekho are cheap knock-offs. The movie offers generous helpings of eye candy but little wajah (reason) for recommendation. Perhaps reruns of yesteryear thrillers like Aitraaz, Gupt or Race would be more reasonable entertainment.

Wajah Tum Ho is far far better than Hate Story 2 and 3. Though it is most definitely not the edge of your seat suspense thriller, it is not outrageously bad either. In India where we celebrate one time watch movies, Wajah Tum Ho can easily be your weekend indulgence. But if you are an ardent worshipper of logical plots, and near flawless films, stick to your sorts.

Minus the sleaze, lacklustre performances and laughable dialogues, Wajah Tum Ho makes up for a decent one-time watch only for its thrill!

It’s so formulaic that you can actually put your headphones on and still decipher each scene and lipread every dialogue.

WTH gets sillier and more ludicrous as it goes along, which is typical for many suspense genre stories.

It’s a great watch for those looking for cleavage shots of busty ladies heaving and all. The men aren’t much of a delight in that department — in one scene, a woman sprays perfume on her guy before doing ‘it’. A cue for body hygiene, and also to make better movies that don’t trivialise rape. No Nirbhaya, India hasn’t changed much. We still objectify women — zoom into their butts and breasts to sell tickets. Hope you are in a better place.

Wish the film’s script displayed at least some level of guts and courage in dealing with issues such as excesses on reality television and rape . It hides in too many masked attempts at suspense and finally blows up in a  climax that has all the ingredients of  a dinner party gone hardly wrong.

Everything in this film is ‘Baseless, logic-less and abstract’. You laugh at the police officer’s dialog, you cringe at the skin show, you shake your head at the stupidity of such films and you come away at the needlessness of such films.

‘Wajah Tum Ho’ is a reasonless thriller made only to encash by titillating the audience and usage of popular hit songs.

Murder and rape, bosoms and hairdos and an unintentional critique of how television news function, Wajah Tum Ho is an unruly mess.

If you are a fan of murder mysteries, this one is bound to keep you guessing. There are plot twists, suspicious new characters, brutal homicides, and every clue takes you further away from the truth. If not that, enjoy watching Gurmeet’s amazingly toned body, or Zarine Khan’s item number. Let sex do the selling!
