He was born on 25 March 1948. He was a famous Indian actor, television presenter and a philanthropist. He is known for his work in the Hindi movies. He had worked with the well-known directors such as Muzaffar Ali, Hrishikesh Mukherjee Satyajit Ray, and Ketan Mehta. He had acted in many serials and had acted in the famous plays such as Jeena isika naam hai, Tumhari Amrita and yet more. He had received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for Lahore. He died due to cardiac arrest. He was born in Amroli, Baroda District, Gujarat. He attended the St. Mary's School, Mumbai, and then to St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.
