He had received the Rashtrapati Award.He was a member of the Indian delegation from South India to the Tashkent Film Festival in 1978 and 1982. He was also the Jury member thrice for National Film Awards. He was given the Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian Cinema. He had worked in Maya Bazar (1957), Kula Daivam (1960), Maa Inti Mahalakshmi (1959), Jyothi (1977),Kula Gothralu (1962), Maro Malupu (1982), Nelavanka (1981), Gaaju Bommalu (1983), Ekalavya (1982), Ee Charitra Ye Siraatho?
