She was born on October 21, 1939. She was born in Burma. She was born to Anglo-Burmese/Anglo-Indian father and Burmese mother. She had to quit her schooling because her mother’s salary was not enough. She was actually working as a nurse. She had a sister and a brother. She got introduced in the film industry with the help of her friend Cukoo. Then she worked as a chorus dancer in the films like: Shabistan (1951) and Awaara (1951). He then did her solo dancing in the films like: Alif Laila (1952) and Hoor-e-Arab (1953). She got her first hit in the song Mera naam chin chin Chu. She then worked as a cabaret dancer and started doing the work of vamp in the movies. She didn’t get success as a heroine, but later, she was recognized for her work as a vamp and she was already established as a cabaret dancer. In the mid of the era, she also faced some financial crisis. But, after this, she got the help of Salim Khan and he made him stand in the industry. Then after this, she married him and also has a daughter Arpita. Her rappo with Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan is also good.
