She was born on 13 December 1952. She is an Indian actress who is known for her work in the Indian film industry. She made her silver screen debut with the film Jeevanamsam in 1968. She also did Goadalli CID 999 starring Rajkumar. Her first blockbuster film was Chattakari. She has obtained the nine Filmfare Awards, the Bengal Film Journalists Association Awards, three Nandi Awards, one National Film Award for Best Actress, Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress, and various other state awards. She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She was born to the veteran Telugu film maker Yaragudipati Varada Rao and mother Kumari Rukhmini. She was married thrice. Earlier she got married to Bhaskar, but got separated. Then she married her co-star Mohan Sharma and both of them were divorced. It was then; she got married to K.S. Sivachandran fell.
