She did movies like: Pyaasa (1957), Dhool Ka Phool (1959), Anpadh, Dil Tera Deewana ( both 1962), Gumrah (1963), Himalaya Ki God Mein (1965) and Aankhen (1968).She was born in a Bengali descent Nepalese Christian family in Calcutta. She was a trained dancer and a singer. She was an approved singer at All India Radio. She did many stage shows from 1974 and 1975. She began her career as a child artist. She acted in the movies like: Jai Vaishno Devi followed by Shri Krishan Leela, Jog Biyog and Dhooli.
