He was born on December 15 July 1946. He was born in Patna, Bihar. He was born in Kayastha family. He then moved to Mumbai to make career in films. He was born to Bhubaneswari Prasad Sinha & Shyama Devi Sinha. He is the youngest of all his four brothers. He was educated from the Patna science college. He also did an acting workshop from the National and television institute of India, Pune. He is married to former Miss India Poonam Sinha. He got his first break in the movie Prem Pujari. He then got a small role in the movie Saajan. He then got many roles after this movie. He also did a movie with Poonam Sinha in Sabak. He is also a political leader and he defeated Shekhar Suman. He was elected from Patna. He is currently from BJP and he is appointed as the BJP minister for his contribution in the sphere of culture and arts department.
