  My review of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus) by bangreaayushi

  This show is produced by Rajan Shahi's Director's Kut Productions. The show focuses on the lives of Akshara and Naitik who are joined by the destiny through an arrange marriage. The story starts with Akshara who lives her college life and she is introduced to Naitik through an arrange marriage. The story is about Jaipur where the family is very conservative and the head of the family decides what their daughter-in-laws will do. Akshara is marrie to Naitik and both of them learn to live the real meaning of marriage. Akshara is the perfect daughter-in-law who undergoes to any extent to help her family reach their goals. Akshara then gets pregnant with her first child and she delivers a baby boy ‘Naks’. But it is after Naks’s birth, the couple meets with an accident and A kshara loses Naitik leaving him bed-ridden. The serial then takes a leap of few years showing Akshara as the perfect business woman who handles her family wioth atmost care. She handles each and every relation very carefully and also her business. Naks also grows up and he is also attached to his mother. But Naitik is missing from her life. But one day, Naitik gets well and he returns back to their lives. Then starts his journey in getting back all those relations, which he had missed these many years. In the story, his mother dies on her birthday, leaving the family under the care of Akshara. Akshara then finds her new mother-in-law in Devyani who is a frequent visitor in their family. She decides to get her father-in-law married. So she convinces her family and with many twists and turns her father-in-law decides to get marry. The story focuses strongly on the female characters who change the way of living in their conservative families. The story is taken ahead with Devyani’s two children Muskaan and Naman, who also come to live with their family. Naman is in love with Karishma who is his friend. So, the family decides to get him married to her inspite of caste difference. The family accepts new challenges and new traditions. But, Karishma she is a business woman and she wants to live life on her own terms. Therefore, Akshara tried every possible thing to make him comfortable in their family. Naman and Karishma get marry in a destination wedding. Muskaan finds her love in Alok (Akshara’s college friend) who is 12 years elder than her. Still, both of them fall for each other and decide to get marry. But, it is Muskan’s family that opposes this wedding. Even in this story, there is Akshara who convinces her family about the same and both of them decide to marry only after Akshara’s delivery. Akshara who is pregnant with her second child delivers a baby girl and they name her ‘Naira’. The entire family atmosphere is happy, but god knows what will the story reveal in the end.
