Aatapita is a 2010 Indian Marathi comedy film released on Dec 10, 2010. The film is directed by Uttung Shelar, produced by Bhooshan Patil.
Ashutosh Pawar aka Ashu (played by Bharat Jadhav) is a simple man working as a clerk in the water department of Mumbai’s municipality. In his absolute banal existence he has always nurtured a dream to be a writer and write his very own story!Despite being a avid reader and having read almost all of Marathi literature; all he has adjusted to write so far is only the first line of his short story. He thus decides to seek help from his lecturer, a renowned writer and his guide Prof. V.V.Deshpande (played by Satish Pulekar) who tells him that in order to move ahead with a story the writer primarily needs to have a central artist on whom the story is based on.Thus following his lecturer’s advice, Ashutosh sets out on his search for his central artist & after several disastrous approaches, comes across Mr. Nandkumar Deshmukh aka Nandu (played by Sanjay Narvekar), a motivational and flamboyant young man working as a loan recovery officer in a multinational bank.Ashu begins to proceed with Nandu and locks him as his central character. Since Ashu has taken the lecturer’s advice to observe his artist intensely, he lands up at Nandu’s home under the pretext of being new in Mumbai and having no place to live!!However Nandu soon finds out Ashu’s reality but when he reads a rough glimpse of the storyline written by Ashu, he is amazed. It’s a known fact that your life is a telltale. But what if a telltale was your life?
