Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Abhoyer Biye (1942)
After the death of uncle, Abhoy fell in a deep oasis became apart from his uncle he knew nothing. Though he was a first class first in M.Sc he was practically worrish in family affairs. Though the old attorney friend of his uncle saved him from the responsibility of maintaining the huge property. What would he do regarding the promise of marrying the daughter of uncle's friend Kanti Babu. Kanti babu lived in Lucknow. He practice law there. Even the gate keeper did not allow him to enter seeing his beard and attire. When Abhoy was abput to return, he met Kanti babu and he took Abhoy and him with his daughter Maya. But he did not know that how to speak with an educated and pretty woman. He came back. But he remembered his promise to his uncle. So one day he came in a taxi wearing a modern and costly dress. But in excitement he forgot to pay the taxi driver. This time a gentleman named Ajoy saved him and Kanti babu took him inside the house. That day Abhoy was not worried about Maya, apart from that Sharama was there to make Abhoy feel free. Suddenly there appeared Ajoy. Abhoy did not like the intimacy of Maya and Ajoy, so he left the place. But incidentally he met with Maya again. When their relationship came close one day Abhoy was very much hurt by Maya behavior. So he left Calcutta and went back to Lucknow and took a job of a professor in a college. Maya became repentant. One day Abhoy realizing his mistake, sent a proposal to Kanti babu for marrying Maya. In the mean time Kanti babu was having a bad time becuse he took a huge amount of loan. Abhoy repaid the entire loan. This time Abhoy came to know about the marriage of Ajoy and Maya. He also knew that the burden of loan bourne by Kanti babu was due to Ajoy. So Abhoy left the place. But he could not go far. He had to come back to Maya again.
