Ahinsa is a 1979 Indian Bollywood action, drama film released on Dec 28, 1979. The film is directed by Chand, produced by Shiv Kumar , music composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.
Non-violence has always been victorius on violence. Non-violence does not denote cowardice but bravery. Birju (Sunil Dutt) takes the revenge of the revenge of the murder of his innocent father by killing two bad characters and thus becomers a dacoit. . In the same vicinity there was a very violent dacoit by the name of Reka (Ranjeet). He kidnaps an innocent girl Radha (Rekha) from the village but Birju saves her. This ignites an enmosity between Birju and Raka and de-famation for Radha, finding herself helpless, Radha and de-famation for Radha, finding herslef helpless, Radha attempts suicide, Birju not only saves her but also marries her. . Now Birju has a responsibility of a wife. When Radha was to deliver a child for Birju police surrounds the area. Birju finds himself non- plussed by the pleadings of his widowed mother as well as the dangero- us situation of his wife, and the child to be born. Ultimately Birju Surrenders himself to the law, who takes a sympathetic attitude and gives him only five years imprisonment. . Inthe jail he meets Shambhu Dada (Premnath) who is sentenced to a life imprisonemnt. In the beginging both are enemies but ultimately both become very close frineds. Meanwhile when Birju was in jail and his son was growing, Raka was waiting for him in vengeance. Destiny played a different trick, Raka happens to be none else but the lost son of Shambhu Dada and his crippled wife. After comming out from the jail all efforts of Birju comes to know that Raka is Shambhu dadas son he pledges to convert the demon into a man. But Raka had other plans. .
