Aiyyaa is a 2012 Indian Bollywood musical,romance film released on Oct 12, 2012. The film is directed by Sachin Kundalkar, produced by Anurag Kashyap under banner named Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, music composed by Amit Trivedi.

The story is taken from a Marathi movie”Gandha”. The story introduces Meenakshi (Rani Mukherjee) falling in love with the Tamil actor Surya (Prithviraj). Meenakshi works in a college as a librarian. She has 5 members in her family. These 5 members introduces characters like:Jyoti Subhas(grandmother), father, mother(Nirmiti Sawant)and brother Nana(Amey Wagh). Meenakshi tries to live in her dreams and her world. Meenakshi loves to dance and act. Another character acting as her colleague is the Maina (Anita Date) who is inspired by the lady gaga. Meenakshi‘s family is looking for a perfect match for Meenakshi. But, Meenmakshi is waiting for her Prince charming.

Surya’s entry marks the ultimate moment. He is shown as an art student. After seeing him, Meenakshi falls for him and decides to marry him. He is always surrounded with a bewildering fragrance. But, Meenakshi’s family searches a match for her.”Maadhav”. Maadhavv runs after Meenakshi and Meenakshi likes Surya. Following number of twists and turns, the movie finally shows that Surya own an Agarabatti factory and the fragrance that always surrounds him is of the agarbattis. The final scene shows Meenakshi getting engaged to Surya in a traditional Marathi wedding.
