Story
The film opens with a wedding ceremony in Howrah where Ajoy and Monica meet. Ajoy comes from a poverty striken family and dreams of earning a large amount of money. He tries his luck at busniess to produce voltameters and galvanometers with Fani babu. As Ajoy's relationship with Monica who comes from a rich family deepens, he presents himself as an affluent busniessman. He borrows a flat and a car from his friend, Satyen and says that he owns them. Trouble starts when Fani babu fails to deliver the machines and orders start getting cancelled. A repentant Ajay goes to Monica's house to confess but is ordered out by both Monica and her father. As Ajay leaves the house, Monica looks out from the window. They painfully bid goodbye.
