Alochhaya is a 1940 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on Jul 06, 1940. The film is directed by Dinesh Das, distributed by , music composed by Krishna Ch. Dey.

Ranjan and Ashok both are very intimate with a girl Sulata and love her passionately. Both of them are themselves friends too. To avoid complications around their love Ashok silently withdraw himself. Before going to abroad for a job Ranjan decided to marry Sulata after his return after six months. But on his way to his work place Ranjan was lost in a boat disaster and his faithful and his faithful servant Gokul could find no tress of his master. The tragic news upset Sulata and his family. But Ranjan did not drown. He was recovered unconscious from the river side by Tulsi and his grandfather. Tulsi came from Baishnab community who earned money by singing. Ranjan was brought to Calcutta but with his lost of memory and for treatment. Ranjan's death news Sulata into self emphases exile. But her mother persuaded her to marry. She was determined for marriage. Therefore she proposed to Ashok. Although Ashok had a profound love for her, he declined to accept her in her moment of distress. But Sulata state fast in her determination. Mean while Ashok's friend Bankim brought a news that he had seen some one like Ranjan at the musical function. Next day Ashok went to the function and recognized Ranjan, but Ranjan could not. Ashok was in conflict. Between the duty towards his friend and treatment. Ashok did not want to make up his past. But Ranjan and Tulsi grew up a relation by thus time. Sulata also reconcile her fate. Eventually could not ignore Ranjan's treatment. Ranjan gradually cured and finally due to Ashok's responsibility for the sake of justice. Everybody was happy at the end.
