Amrit is a 1986 Indian Bollywood family drama, drama, social film released on Jun 27, 1986. The film is directed by Mohan Kumar, produced by Mohan Kumar , music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Amrit (played by Rajesh Khanna) lives with his only son and meanwhile Kamla (played by Smita Patil) widow lives with her only boy at Kamal Niwas. But Kamla is treated as slave in her own house and the only individual who loves her in the house is her grand girl named as Sunita. Amrit has the habit of taking his grandboy to the nearby garden when his grandson is apart from studies. Amrit learns about Kamla’s troubles due to him meeting her coincidentally quite every day in the garden. Amrit and Kamla meetup to develop a good bonding with each other. One fine day Kamla gets late to pick up her grandgirl named as Sunita from the school, as the auto rickshaw she was going to reach school, clashes with an accident. Amrit the boy meanwhile goes to pick up his grandboy named as Rahul comes to get that of this and brings Sunita to her home. Amrit sees Kamla being insulted by her daughter-in-law when he goes to their home to nurse Kamla’s injury. Amrit agrees to donate some finance to Brahmins on the occasion of his son’s birthday but he does not have finance and so asks his boy to give him few bucks. Amrit and kamla watch television with sunita and rahul upon these amrit sons get enraged and insults them, his boy throws him out of the house permanently. In the rains, the hurt Amrit clashes with the accident. Kamla the girl, then with assistance of like minded people, gets operated Amrit in a hospital.
