Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Anurodh (1977)
This is the story of Arun (Rajesh Khanna) who is the son of wealthy businessman R.K. Chaudhary (Utpal Dutt). Mr Chaudhary wanted his son to take care or interfere in his singing career and changes his name to "Sanjay". He leaves his home to make his career in singing and moves to Calcutta. Arun sings on the lyrics written by his friend Shrikant (Vinod Mehra) who is very ill and down with T.B. Meanwhile, Arun becomes a popular singer in Calcutta and he is hired by the local radio station to sing for them. Arun also takes up the job as a driver with Ashok Kumar (Mr. Mathur) who drives his grand daughter Simple (Sunita) to college and back home. Sunita is in love with the Singer Sanjay but is unaware that her own driver is none other than the singer Sanjay. Now, Shrikant comes to Calcutta to meet Arun, and Arun finds out that he is seriously ill. He takes him to hospital and there he finds his own missing grandfather Mr. Mathur. Mr Choudhary along with his wife also come to Calcutta to find out about the whereabouts of his son in the end all get reunited again and Shrikant is also operated upon successfully for his T.B disease.
Sanjay, a millionaires son and Shrikant are two inseperable friends. Sanjay is a singer and Shrikant a poet. The formers father does not like Sanjays avocation and demands that if he wants to live in his house he will have to give up music. Sanjay takes up the challenge. He goes to Calcutta, where he works as a driver in the house of Ramesh Chandra. Sunita, the grand-daughter of Ramesh Chandra, has a crush on Sanjay the singer. The lovers are united after a series of misunderstandings and Shrikant and his mother are in turn united with Ramesh Chandra, who is his long-lost father.
