Single White Female, anyone? Ok, so this one's another of those sundry lifts from Hollywood films, repackaged as desi kitsch. But what's there to complain about? Don't we see it happening so often? End verdict? Apartment's a decent watch provided you promise not to watch Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh do the catfight in Single White Female.Read full review2.0

Apart from the fact that it is stolen, `The Apartment’ suffers from bland acting, and superfluous songs: Neetu Chandra is the only one who takes advantage of Mundhra’s latest. She shows once again she can emote, which you can’t accuse her co-stars of, but this is the kind of film that you watch on and off. More off than on.Read full review2.0

A boring boob-fest. Apartment is a C-grade psychopath thriller drama with lesbian overtones. But, more importantly, it is a boob-fest. Throughout the film, wherever the camera finds itself, it quickly locates a pair of breasts and either jumps with joy at the sighting, or just peers lecherously. Apartment is so desperately obsessed that in a scene in a clothing store, unable to find the real thing, it settles down to stare at a disembodied female torso made of fibreglass.Read full review1.5

There is barely any tension or nail-biting build-up in the moments leading up to those vicious attacks, and the acting -- by the two ladies in particular -- is so bad, it's hard to feel anything for either. By the time it's revealed fairly late in the film that Neetu Chandra's character suffers from a mental condition, the audience is already way ahead of the film's characters. In her introduction scene itself she's been established as something of a nutjob when you see her scratching out romantic graffiti in a train. So it's not like her bizarre behavior comes as a surprise, you see!Read full review1.5

The best thing about APARTMENT is that it doesn't deviate from the main plot. It stays true to the story and the four principal characters in the film. But the writing isn't convincing in its post-interval portions. Neetu's past in Igatpuri is tame and lacks the dramatic high. Also, the plot tends to get predictable after a point and you actually know what's in store next. Besides, the chill factor is missing. Especially when Neetu becomes a killing machine. It just doesn't evoke any fear. Bappa Lahiri's music is functional.Read full review1.5

Mundhra’s Apartment reads like a frighteningly disembodied episod, neither passionate nor bloody enough to qualify as a genuine slasher flick, of a television mini-series built around the theme of suburban loneliness. We’ve seen many films on the theme of what Mumbai does to the outsider.Read full review1.5

The acting is abysmal. The production values are tacky. And the writing is laugh-out-loud funny. At one point, Preeti’s friend is giving her advice on men and love. ‘You want faithful’, she says, get a dog. I’m going to steal that line. You want a thriller. Rent a DVD instead. Venture into this apartment at your own risk.Read full review1.0

This Apartment is not even a distant relative. The script stars a small-town dement, who makes strange faces and obsesses over an uptown girl. It reads more like a Z-grader called Girlfriend (2004): a homophobic movie that many thought was a lesbian subject. You wish the plot here came embellished from elsewhere instead, Hollywood perhaps. But then, no one will attempt such a flimsy subject for about two hours. Inspirations are hard to find, for an obvious reason.Read full review1.0

Remakes of Hollywood hit flicks with desi tadka is something that has become very common in the last decade or so. Apartment, directed by Jagmohan Mundra known for his movie Provoked starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is one such film that draws from 1992 Hollywood hit 'Single White Female'. With the same treatment as its original, will this taut thriller makes it way with the desi audience? To break the silence early, just as the movie, Apartment is a torture and kills the joy of the thriller genre.Read full review0.5

Horrible would be a terrible word to describe this deplorable film. It's sad that Jag Mundhra has provoked such a response with this film of his produced by Nari Hira. There's nothing in this film. The production values are so tacky that the sound, in today's day and age, goes ballistic. Dubbing is annoying and acting... well, was anyone? As for the music, it's appalling that such mindless cacophony of noise has been attributed to anyone.Read full reviewNR
