Apne Huye Paraye is a 1964 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1964. The film is directed by Ajit Chakraborty, produced by Ajit Chakraborty under banner named Mars & Movies.

Apne Huye Paraye is a dramatic film Starring Manoj Kumar (Dr.Shanker), Mala Sinha (Rekha), Shashikala (adopted sister Lata). Shanker and Rekha are childhood friends. Rampyari is Lata's servant. Everytime when Lata does something wrong, she encourages her. Shanker goes to Kanpur but before going, he meets Rekha and gifts her a doll. After Shanker leaves Lata cunningly takes away the doll. 25 yrs has passed. All kids have grown up but Lata's nature is same as before...cunning and dominating. Once in the bus, Rekha met Shanker but they did not recognise each other, he goes to Rekha's house, they see each other and gets shocked. Rekha introduces Lata to Shanker. Lata gets impressed by Shanker's personality and offers him a role in her show. But Shanker refuses saying that he is a doctor and not an actor. Days passed... Shanker proposes to Rekha and keeps the proposal of their marriage in front of her mom. Rekha's mom says yes. But on the other side, Lata is unhappy because she also loves him and wants to get married with him by hook or crook. Rampyari and Lata makes a plan they called Shanker to the house saying that Lata is not feeling well. Shanker comes to see her but Rampyari closes the door from outside. Rekha's mom had gone out for shopping. When she returned she saw them in the room she get depressed, Rekha seeing her mom's health she requests Shanker to get married to Lata. They both get married and Rekha's mom dies. After her mom's death Rekha comes on the road. So she stays with her servant whom she calls as Mama. Rekha starts earning and suddenly she falls sick and mama calls doctor. Shanker comes to see her, he advices her to take medicine and take rest. Whole night, he stays with her and Lata gets worried and in tension she does not sleep whole night, too. When Shanker comes home, she asked him where were you, he tells her the truth, she gets angry and they have a fight. Next day, Lata goes and brings Rekha and Mama to her house. After a day Mama tells Rekha that he wishes to go Kashmir and he will come back soon. Rampyari makes a dirty plan, she puts poison in water for Rekha and sends the water through servants but Lata drinks the water and dies. Police comes and arrests Rekha in murder of Lata. Rampyari gets scared and tries to escape but meets with an accident. She accepts the truth that she killed Lata instead of Rekha. Court releases Rekha and Shanker comes and takes her back to his house.

A Whirlwind of circumstances bring orphan. Lata, a little girl of tender years in the family hold of SHOBHA the kindly mother of little REKHA. . The mother in Shobha knows no distinction between her own daughter Rekha and the adopted orphan Lata-may-she even goes out of her way to please Lata and in doing so she does not care for the danger signal " Beware of Pity" etched by mother nature on the Golden sands of Time. . One sunny Spring finds the two little buds blossom into fragrant flowers. Shanker, now a handsome youth, has been an intimate playmate of Rekha in the childhood. It is but natural that both Rekha and Shankar should yearn for each others company in the prime of their youth for life long partnership. . Lata has been a spoilt child and has developed kittenish character due to over indulgence of Shobha. She cannot stand this love of Shankar for Rekha, Jealousy plays its sinister trump card and ultimately Lata succeeds in getting married to Shanker by trampling the honey dew love of Rekha under foot. . Shobha dies and poor Rekha has to leave the already mortaged house. . Latas cunningness boomrangs on her as Shankar does not respond to her love. Shankar still maintains contact with his first love Rekha. An old scheming maid Servant Ram Pyari has discovered this and informs Lata accordingly. . The Drama takes a twist as Lata invites Rekha to her home in order to dynamite the love between Shankar and Rekha. . Lata plans methodically as the fly has walked into the parlour of the spider. She waits with the patience of a cat and paunces with the ferocity of a tiger with a tumbler full of poisoned water for Rekha to drink..... . In the morning one of the girls is found dead.
