Astitva is a bold film with infidelity. An ambitious male bigot and his loving wife are happily wed but the guy is not able to give time to the family as he want to make it big in life. His work is of utmost importance to him. His work keeps him away from his family for days and this makes his beau very lonely. In one such situation, she buckles to loneliness and has a physical relationship with her music professor and becomes pregnant. She tries confessing to her beau, but he is so happy about her pregnancy, that he does not here to her story. Twenty Five years later, situations force the suspicious husband’s mind to work overtime and resist his wife with facts and figures that when she was expecting, he had not had any intimate scenes with her for more than 9 months before the child's birth. The beau accepts it and asks for mercy, but the husband does not and they are forced to get separate. Even after it is proved that the companion too was cheating his wife, he is found guilty.
