There are people - film critics, indie filmmakers, and audience members -- who are averse to the idea of technology overshadowing the dramatic content of films. I have often found myself in that camp. But I remember being dragged, kicking and screaming, by a friend for a screening of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and being humbled by James Cameron's vision and the thrilling suspenseful chase sequencesRead full review4.0

And we thought sinking the Titanic was a titan task! Well, this time round, James Cameron chooses to play god and creates a whole new world with such exquisite finesse, aesthete and eye for detail, he almost takes your breath away. In terms of sheer technology, Avatar marks the coming of age of both CGI and 3-D cinema with its art house special effects and its shock and awe treatment.Read full review4.0

It took him 12 years (after Titanic)and many dreams to create this technological marvel and the long wait, I must say,was definitely worth it! The movie sincerely needs to be reviewed at two levels. One at the technological marvel that it creates, and the other at its sub-par story line, which though decent, brings down the overall film's quality. James Cameron apparently thought of the idea in 1995, but waited all this while for the technology to implement it. His PR machinery has proudly claimed that Avatar will revolutionise cinema-watching forever.Read full review3.0

“Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart,” said William Wordsworth. Thus, without letting our admiration for James Cameron come in the way of our verdict on ‘Avatar’, with a heavy heart, we’ll have to say that we found Cameron’s highly anticipated, expensive motion picture ‘Avatar’ not living up to our expectations. Many who have seen the film have an opinion that since so much time (10 years), effort and sweat has gone intoRead full review
