Awaargi 1990

Awaargi is a 1990 Indian Bollywood drama, action film released on Jan 26, 1990. The film is directed by Mahesh Bhatt, produced by P. Raghunathan.
The story starts with Lalla, who is the underworld criminal. Lalla’s most trusted men is Azad (played by Anil Kapoor), who frightens people. But, Azad realize his wrong doings and later on rescues a prostitute named Meena (played by Meenakshi Sheshadri) from the ruling hands of Ranubhai (played by Avtar Gill). Now Azad falls in love with Meena and he wants her to pursue her career as a singer. Soon, Meena is a famous singer and she becomes popular. Now, one day she meets with Dhiren and both fall in love with each other. But seeing this, Azad doesn’t confess his feelings for Meena and has to deal with Bhau’s men.

Azaad is a vagabond doing who does small jobs for Don Jamal Khan. He rescues Meena from a brothel, thereby inviting the wrath of Bhau, another don. Azaad protects Meena from Bhau & vows to make her a great singer with the help of Dhiren a popular singer and dancer himself. The entry of Dhiren in the life of Meena puts her into a dilema . She is torn between gratitutde for her savior and protector, Azaad & her love for Dhiren. Although she loves Dhiren, she is too grateful to Azad to leave him. Meanwhile , Azaad is enraged with jealousy and takes out all his frustraction on Meena . On the other hand, Bhau decides to take his revenge on Azaad by kidnapping Azaad's beloved Meena. He also kills Jamal Khan. Azaad realises his mistake and understands that Meena will be happier with Dhiren . Will Azaad be able to free Meena again ?
