Thirteen years ago when she innocently reached out for that 'hair gel' hanging off Ben Stiller's ear in There's Something About Mary, Cameron Diaz was anointed the funniest girl in the movies. After all, she could make the crudest jokes appear cute and harmless. Who better then to cast as a smoking, drinking, potty-mouthed academician in a comedy whose title tells you everything you need to know about the film? Diaz, who's now pushing 40

She's a really awful breed of educator. Foul-mouthed, conniving and perpetually hung-over, the titular anti-heroine shouldn't even be around students. Under the circumstances, we hardly want to root for her or the film which comes across a cheesy, calculatedly un-PC romp. It doesn't help that the gold-digger teacher (Diaz) is so desperate to ensnare a wealthy colleague (Timberlake), that she's willing to get breast implants to enhance her desirability

There exists a great movie about a lazy, unmotivated teacher who uses students for personal gain. This teacher also doesn't care much for the students, often calling them derogatory names and deriding them for their shortcomings. The movie, however, ends with the teacher having taught the kids a lesson that goes beyond the scope of the syllabus and in effect celebrates an irreverent approach to education. Cameron Diaz can make a good thing out of most things. However, much as you may smile at Bad Teacher here and there, it's hard to shake off the fact that this is a middle school instructor who runs movies in her class as she swigs booze or does drugs under the table, who does the mini-shorts and wet T-shirt car wash routine as part of fundraising for the school with students, who steals from that money so that she can fund a boob job

Bad Teacher leans heavily on the premise that Cameron Diaz is finding it impossible to land a rich chap. With drop dead gorgeous looks and legs that reach her armpits, she has a problem?
