Badi Bahen 1949

Badi Bahen is a 1949 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1949. The film is directed by D. D. Kashyap.
Shyama (played by Suraiya) gets a job as a slave so she can pay for her younger sis named as Kiran's (played by Geeta Bali) education in the city. Kiran though, is in liking with a rogue named as Ajit (played by Pran). Ajit makes Kiran fling all the money Shyama sends her on them. After this, Shyama meets and falls deeply in love with Shyam (played by Rehman), the boy of the family she works for and who is a doctor who wants to operate her as the poor. With both of being ill-functioned by the woman of the house, who is Shyam's step mom, they decide to run off. But, Kiran moves to her, foresees her and impregnated. Shyama goes along with her without knowing Shyam in order to find Ajit. They find Ajit but he runs off from them. The two sis then relocate to another town. Kiran has the child named as Shyama works in another home, where in order to get Kiran established with the young boy of the house and to prove her to be without bruising she takes it upon herself to claim to be the mom of the child. This causes further complexes with Shyam, who has adjusted to trace her out and now considers that she has been unfaithful to him. Luring in grief, he falls diseased. Finally after this, with the help of a kind hearted army colonel, also Ajit's uncle (played by Ulhas), and all ends well that well with a rueful Ajit wedding Kiran and Shyama reunited with Shyam.
