Band Master is a 1963 Indian Bollywood social film released on Jan 01, 1963. The film is directed by Ravindra Dave, music composed by Chitragupta.
Kishans father was overtaken with deep sorrow as a result of his son failing in his B.A. Examination. Kishan left his home for Bombay the only place where the earnest desier of his heart to become a Film actor, could be fulfilled. In Bombay, he happened to come in contact with a party of band msters one of whose company he bedame, too. But despite his hard struggles, his efforts were never crowned with success during several years of his indulging into eflorts to achieve his goal. . Once a land-lady owning some estate in the name of Keshav Bhuwan invited the party of the band-masters with a view of celebrating her daughters birth-day. Now, this was the same sad millionaires whose only son had been missing for twenty long years, and had never been traced so far in spite of his having been searched hard for. The band- masters who had become aware of this, insisted on Kishans appearing before the lady as her missing son and thus, becoming a millionaire. But after the completion of the "birthday" ceremonies, a boy named Kishore approached the wealthy lady and declared himslef as her lost son befor even Kishan could arrive to so the same. This affair cast the four band-master into counfusion, for, within only a short period of time Kishan was to arrive on the scene. And lo! When Kishan did arrive as the missing son, at long last, what a great problem arose for the lady to recognise as to who of the two viz, Kishan and Kishore was her real son! At last, as per the ladys decision bothe the boys were allowed to stay with her. But a few days thereafter, Kishans father came and humiliated his so-called son to such an extent that the poor fellow (Kishan) had to leave the house. This incident shocked and saddened Nila - the land - ladvs daughter who had already been in love with Kishan. His heart being melted by this, Kishans so-called father revealed the secret that Kishan was the real son of the lady but not long after this identity, the lady was poisoned by somebody.
