The first reason why you'd like to rush to the nearest cinema to watch this one? Battleship releases a month before the United States of America. Nah! You'd rush to see your ultimate Hasbro combat game come alive on screen. But before that, here's a warning: Some fifty odd minutes into the movie and this is what you witness - Lt. Alex Hopper ( Taylor Kitsch) is a happy-go-lucky-youth who does not mind rubbing the cops on the wrong side

This is the season of sinking ships. Titanic made a return from the abyss in 3D and now it’s the turn of US Naval ships to battle alien sea crafts in old school board game Battleship style. Director Peter Berg’s big budget CGI extravaganza has enough hot air to make it float. But it also has enough dead weight to affect its buoyancy. To their horror, there is life on Planet G and have now descended on earth

In the end, this week's Hollywood release Battleship looked like Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch) saved the world -- in his own words -- just so that he can win over his lover, Samantha's (Brooklyn Decker) father, a stern Vice Admiral who wouldn't be convinced with any lesser feat. If there was no girl, there would have virtually been no plot points in Peter Berg's Battleship. It all begins on a comic note; at a bar, Hopper spots a famished Samantha and promises to return

Universal Pictures and Hasbro’s Battleship is an action film. Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch) is a talented but good-for-nothing young man. Alex’s elder brother, Stone (Alexander Skarsgård), a US Navy officer, forces Alex to enlist in the Navy. But even after joining the Navy as a Lieutenant, Alex does not change his bumbling ways. During an international Naval exercise being held off the coast of Hawaii, Alex gets into a fight with a foreign naval officer
