The world had to bow its head before a child of seven years-and its name was Dhruva Kumar. . The King Uttanpad had no issue for a long time. He bowed to the wishes of the subjects. His queen Suniti gave her willing consent to the second mariage of King Uttanpad. The Kings second wife Suruchi came with dreams of her issue ascending on the throne in succession of Kind Uttanpad. But man proposes and God disposes. Even before Suruchi became pregnant a son was born to Suniti. The child was considered by one and all as the heir apparent. The fire of jealousy was kindled in Suruchis heart, and she considered him to be a big obstacles in the way on her son Uttam Kumar succeeding Uttanpad. But where can a man succeed when the Almighty issues otherwise? . Seeing all her attempts frustrated, the Queen Suruchi drags down Dhruv Kumar, who is sitting in his fathers lap. Feeling insulted and the Prince Dhruv Kumar proceeded to the jungle. He met Naradhji on the way. On advice of Naradji he undertook a penance in the jungle. Because of his incessant penance, Shree Vishnu Bhagwan had no way but to bestow immortality on Dhruva. .
