Bouma 1986

Bouma is a 1986 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on 1986. The film is directed by Sujit Guha.

A professor Surojit (Ranjit Mallick) is an obedient son who doesnt do anything without his father, Manajit's permission. However he marries his girlfriend Moumita (Sanghamitra Mitra) without permission. One day on hearing about his fathers illness he goes to his village. His father fixes his marriage with a poor lady Laxmi (Sandhya Ray) and takes his promise that he will marry her. But Surojit tells everything to Laxmi, who says that she will live with him as a servant. He takes her home to Kolkata where she stays as his servant. Moumita and Surajit's friend, Sushabhan (Samit Bhanja) insults Laxmi but Suroji cannot do anything. One day Surajit's brother Arijit (Prasenjeet Chatterjee) comes back from jail where he was sent on a false case. Arijit goes to his brother's house and he mistakes Laxmi as Surojits wife. When he meet Moumita,he does not like her. Moumita insults Manajit and Arijit says everything to his father. Moumita wants to drive Laxmi away from the house and tells her father everything. As her father tries to drive away Laxmi, Manajit and Arijit arrive. Surojit finally divorces Moumita and receives Laxmi as his wife.
