All the world knows the story of `ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES. . But this is a some what different one. It is the story of Forty Babas and one Thief! The forty Babas were 40 chidren and the thief? . Well how can we tell you who the thief is? Ashas father was a taxi driver. On his death, she inherited a dilapidated old taci cab and a few destitute children whom she used to look after. To maintain this beloved, small world fo her, Asha had to ply the taxi. . The children too, carned, a few coppers by becoming vendors in the `Bazaar. Even so, there was not enough to go around. They put off their creditors with promises, but how long colud they exist on promises? . One day a traveller came along and engaged the taxi driven by Asha, who was at the moment, feeling confused and hopeless. The traveller was a simple country lad who had come over to the city to see his betrothed. His name was Raj Kumar. He Succumbed to the magic of Ashas effervescent personality and made her his friend and confidante. He took Asha for a boy, and for a long time she remained a boy to him. Disguised a as a boy, asha saved Raj Kumar from a trap into which he had fallen. The trap had been set by Vikram who wanted to marry off a vagabond girl, Rohini - whom he introduced around as his sister - to Raj Kumar. . Asha got to know about the conspiracy. She set about exposing the plot and circumstances helped her. Raj Kumar, too, came to know of the trap And, at that very time, he realised that Asha was a girl. He began to think when would he get a wife like Asha? . He informed his rich uncle that he wanted to marry Asha. He knew he would be disinherited if he married Asha, but he no longer cared for money. But, then, getting married to Asha was not easy. vikram was all set for avenge. With the help of his friends, he succeeded in kidnapping Munna, one of the Babas in Ashas little world. Only if Raj Kumar married Rohini would Munna be returned to Asha! Asha loved Munna as much as she loved Raj Kumar. . What happened then? There was a difficult task ahed. Munna had to be brought back and Raj Kumar must marry Asha. . All difficulties can be overcome. How did they overcome this one?
