Chamatkar is a 1992 Indian Bollywood drama film released on Jul 08, 1992. The film is directed by Rajiv Mehra, produced by Parvesh Mehra under banner named Eagle Films.
The story revolves around Sunder Srivastav. Sunder Srivastav is a lecturer by profession. On one fine day, he decides to relocate in Dubai. He seeks help of his childhood friend. For this, he pays him a large sum and finance. Then, he travels to Bombay to move to Dubai, but finds that his friend had backstabbed him. Sunder has no option to deal with this situation, so he lives in graveyard. He soon meets with Marco alias Amar Kumar, who asks his help in apprehending some killers. Sunder agrees to do this for him. Then Sunder comes to know that Amar Kumar, whom asked him for the help, has been died about 20 years from now

Sunder Srivastava (Shahrukh Khan) is a young graduate whose only ambition in life is to fulfill his father's dream of starting a school on his half-acre property in his village but his friend cheats him by making him to mortgage his property. Sunder them meets a ghost who helps him.

After being cheated by his childhood friend Prem, Sunder is left alone in Mumbai without money and lands up in an old Christian cementry. Sitting on an old grave, Sunder gives vent to his frustrations and strikes the tombstone in helplessness, but immediately apologises to the deceased. This amuses the ghost of Macro who was killed and thrown into the grave 20 years back, only to rise on Sunder's apology. Macro explains to Sunder that he wants his help to take revenge on Kumta and also to get him a place to live and a job for a post in a college run by his father in law. Macro's daughter Mala becomes fond of Sunder. The college is short of funds and proposes a cricket match to collect funds. Sunder & his team are helped by the invincible Macro, who cheats on their behalf and ensures their victory. In the end Kumta captures Sunder and Mala and attempts to bury them alive. What will Macro do? Will he be able to save Sunder and Mala? Can he prove his innocence?
