Chaplin is a 2011 Indian Bengali costume drama, comedy, drama film released on Aug 26, 2011. The film is directed by Anindo Banerjee, produced by Purnendu Roy , music composed by Indradeep Dasgupta.

Bengali film-maker Anindo Banerjee's first film (since his previous film has been stalled for some reason), Chaplin is about a man Bangshi who is a a very big fan of the legendary Charles Chaplin. Bangshi hails from a lower middle class colony and stays with his son. He has grown up watching films of Chaplin and wanting to be like Chaplin.

In fact Bangshi earns his living by imitating Chaplin and trying to impersonate him at small programs and events and to walk and talk like Chaplin is the only thing he knows and can perform best. His son Nemoa sees young kids like him celebrating their birthdays in style where his father performs and he also desires to do the same.

Since his father can’t afford to do so, there is clash between the father and son. The father is also looking for his first break which does take place ultimately. How the character of Chaplin becomes more relevant than the actors remains to be seen.

CHAPLIN is a Bengali film directed by Anindo Banerjee starring Rudranil Ghosh, Rachita, Srijit Mukherjee and others.

CHAPLIN is a story of Bangshi who is a great fan of Charlie Chaplin and earns his living by impersonating him, and Bangshi's son Nemoa who wants to have birthday parties like other kids which his daddy can ill-afford.

The playback singers are Roopam Islam, Shaan and of special interest, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty's daughter - an accomplished Indian classical vocalist in her own right - KAUSHIKI DESIKAN.
