Atashi, a young lady arrives in a village to work as a tribal welfare officer. There she is receved at the station by Mr. Banerjee. The Banerjees invite Atashi to dinner. There she sees Sanjay whom she had known long back but this man calls himself Prabal.The film goes into flashback when Atashi was in college. Soon Atashi's parents planned the wedding of their daughter with Rajiv, Sanjoy's friend. Sanjoy whom Atashi had met in college opposed this marriage because he disapproved of some traits present in Rajiv. Sanjoy went to Atashi's house to speak about this, but Atashi gave him a deaf ear. Atashi then received a call from her uncle who was a policeman in connection with Rajiv and the film comes back to the present scene. Atashi starts meeting Prabal to understand him better and makes enquiries about him. Her father wants to know Prabal's real identity and whether Prabal is actually Sanjay. She soon learns that Prabal and Sanjay are the same person. She informs the police after which reality is exposed. Rajiv was already married when Atashi had met him. Sanjay had tried to oppose the marriage between Rajiv and Atashi for this very reason and in the process Sanjay had landed up hitting Rajiv. Now when all clouds are removed, Sanjay and Atashi meet forever.
