Story


Commissoner Rudrama Naidu is a 2001 Indian Telugu action film released on Dec 14, 2001. The film is directed by Vinayan, produced by V Sri Kalyan Babu under banner named Sri Raghavendra Movie International. Mammootti plays the title role of an honest police officer and the villain of the piece is Finance Minister. Gudisela Pochayya. The film opens with the verbal clash between these two, when people demand an apology from minister for his remarks against women. The minister obliges but nurtures a grudge, and asks the Chief Minister to suspend the police commissioner. However, CM refuses to oblige even when Pochayya threatens to turn against him along with his followers. Rudrama Naidu is burdened with a sad past. The armed gangs murder his wife and son. Now Rudrama Naidu lives with his daughter and his wife's younger sister, Radha. He also runs orphanages for abandoned children. Meena, daughter of the state Chief Minister falls in love with him. Rudrama Naidu becomes an obstacle to the villainous activities of Pochayya. At the end, he succeeds in busting the criminal activities and exposing some of his senior officers as well. The fight scenes, composed by Kanal Kannan, are interesting. Editor Narasimha Rao and cameraman Sanjeevi Shankar did their jobs well. Mammootti and Meen are the only two familier faces in this Telugu dubbing of Malayalam hit movie. Among the rest, Dilip, Manya, Sukumari, Kavya and Madhavan have important roles. The film attracts action drama lovers with a taste for police stories. Background music support is interesting. While, Meena's role is ornamental, Mammootti remains the star attraction throughout the film. The dubbing of the film is satisfying.
