Don is a 1978 Indian Bollywood action, social film released on Jun 12, 1978. The film is directed by Chandra Barot, produced by Nariman Irani.

Don (Amitabh Bachan) is the most wanted international smuggler, on the list of interpole, is the most powerful man in the world of crime. Don is completely merciles even towords his own man. Ramesh who work for Don decides to leave this profission. But Don kills him Ramesh Fiance Kamini (Helen)get completely shettered and decites to take the revrange. DCP D'silvas(Iftikhar)who is on his mission to arrest this restless gangstar plot a plant with the help of Kamini. Kamini seduce Don make him wait in a hotel room, till the police come . The plan fail and Don escaped from sence. As Don oversmart Kamini in the processs Kamini get killed. After the long cast the police did not successed to catch Don. Who is Badly injures and shot D'silves when leave for the headquarter learns that Don is hiding in his car . Don threaten D'silvas at the gunpoint and tell to help him run away . But within few minutes only Don passes away. The secrat Don is dead. is known to D'silvas only.He decided to keep it as a secret so that he can get the information about his whole gangs. D'silvas approaches Jijay (Amitabh in a double role) who is a street dancer and singer and asked him to enter in the Don gangs as Don. Vijay is all alone in the world, agrees to do so, because of the two missing children whom is taking care of Vijaj enter the gang, Pretending that he has lost his memory and keep in touch with D'silvas to give information about the other gang member. Vijay meet Roma(Jeenat Aman)who is also a gang member and work as a shopshooter . Roma is the sister of Ramesh and she has join the gang in order to kill don She mistake Vijay with Don and tries to kill him Vijay who has fall in love with Roma tell her the truth. But some how Vijay relity disclosed in front of all gang member after a police raid. During the police raid D'silvas was killed ,who is the person who know the relity of Vijay. vijay now in big trouble because all the gang member want to kill him and even police think that he is Don . The story has also very thrilling suspence as it goes on.

Ramesh’s sister, Roma (Zeenat Aman), joins the gang, to take revenge on the deaths of Ramesh and Kamini. Soon, a chase leads to Don getting injured and dying in D’Silva’s arms. D’Silva wants to get to the bottom of the activities and wants to send a lookalike in place of Don. Vijay (Amitabh in a double role) who is a street dancer and singer and asked by D’Silva to impersonate as Don. In return, D’Silva will take care of the two children who are Vijay’s companions. Vijay is send back to the gang, as if he has lost his memory. He comes to know of many secrets and convinces the gang that he is Don. Roma is however waiting for the day Don’s memory will be back and she can kill Don and take her revenge. Vijay steals a diary which has all the secret identities of the gang members and hands it over to D’Silva. The plot complicates when the crippled JJ (Pran), the father of the children, and wrongly sent to jail by D’Silva, comes back from jail to settle the score with D’Silva and when D’Silva is shot dead by the gang. Vijay as Don is caught by the police, but he cannot prove that he is actually a police informer. Inspector Malik gives Vijay a couple of chances, but in vain. Will Vijay be able to prove his innocence and find the actual kingpin of the gang, known as Vardhan? Will JJ be able to find his children?
