Shiv -the hero lived up to it and ultimately In the North West India about 50 years back, two brother lived. By one reason or the other they were at dagers drawn in their life. But after some time one Brother died in anearthquake leaving a son of about 12 years who was ultimately brought to uncle (Khanchand). Khanchand gave shelter to Shiv despite the hatred his wife had for Shiv. Shiv fully realised his duties as a faithful nephew & was of very high morals. Reaching the age of 35 or so, he did not marry, so much so that the word woman did mean nothing to him. He was happy in the service of his kind and noble uncle. Khanchands only son Sunder much younger in age than Shiv, had a bad society yet his mother always sided him. Shiv always tried to conceal his vices, as a good and noble elder brother. . In the same town seth Ramdial - the richest man of Shamgarh, used to live. Once in his youth, he being friend to Shivs father Sukhdial, exchanged promise with him thah his only daughter the owner of all his riches would be married to Shiv. Khanchand accepted it besides Shivs refusal. But Shiv being an obedient nephew could not displease his uncle. Shiv was brave, benevolent and obedient. Once in a jungle few decoits attacked the Fitten of Ramdial in which his daughter and his Malis daughter Kokila were going to some Mela. Shiv approached in time and saved them. Lejan and Shiv became known to each other. Shiv (knowing that she was to be his bride) was too much attracted to her and she too. . Sunder Khanchands own son a gambler a loafer and what not wanted to marry Lajan-only for her riches. His mother who was always opposed to Shiv and also being comparatively younger to Khanchand brought the whole family atmosphere to agree to Lajans marriage with Sunder.
