Story


Ek Aasmaan Kai Dishaain is a 1987 Indian Bollywood film released on 1987. The story of this movie, as the title suggests, is symbolised through a pair of grown-up children Radha-Raju (Sandeepa - Safi) in contrast to another pari Bobby -Dolly (Kedar - Sabiha); who are first cousins. . Rama (Chanda), a widow of a military officer and mother of Radha -Raju struggles hard to maintain her children, even at the cost of her health. She, not only, provides them the same standard of education as during her her husbands life time, she also maintains a very positive atmosphere at home, suitable for a good upbringing of children. . Whereas, on the one hand Rama finds the meaning of her life, her very existence in the upbringing of her children, there, on the other hand her step sister, Sudha (Renuka Israni) married to rich businessman Sudhir (S.M. Zaheer) leads a fashionable and artificial life. Neither she has time nor she has the sense of responsibility towards the upbringing of her children - As a result Radha - Raja grows into a very responsible and positive children, whereas Bobby - Dolly are spoilt children, following the footsteps of their mother. . On an invitation from Mama Pawan (Jairup), both the family arrives at their village in order to spend their holidays. Radha - Raju enjoys their village stay because of their positive approach towards life, Sudha, Bobby - Dolly are misfit in the village atmosphere, hence complaints. . Nani (Rashmi Seth) discriminates between her daughters and their childrens. She illtreats Rama and Radha-Raju. Rama fells ill and returns to city with brother Pawan. She ultimately succumbs to her dreadful disease in a hospital, leaving her children orphan. . Sudhir, takes both the children in his care. Sudha starts illtreating Radha -Raju. Sudhir, being an introvert and non asserting person. Knowingly keeps mum. Mama Pawan, learns of childrens illtreatment. He decides to marry a Harijan girl Kammo (Bhavna Seth) in the village, adopt Radha-Raju and settle down in the city in order to provide them higher education. He marries Kammo in the village temple. The orthodox village doesnt take their marriage lightly and few rowdy elements attacks him. He gets injured and takes tobbed. . Radha-Raju after waiting for days for their mama are left with no other choice then leaves Sudhirs house, which they do in the darkness of one night. They take shelter in the cellar of one building. A ruffian picks Radha with bad intention. But at the right moment a good samaritan in Khan Baba (Brijmohan Vyas); a poor Thelawala, a slum dweller comes to their rescue. He provides them shelter and loves them immensly. . Radha-Raju starts a new life. Instead of getting spoiled by slum atmosphere, Radha starts educating the slums poor kids and Raju takes up a small job. They become the source of energy for all the positive character of the slum. A social worker Alka (Sunita Thakur) visits the slum quite frequently gives all kind of support to Radha. . Sakku Bai (Shikha - Divan) is a tough woman who runs a illict country-liquor distillery in the slum. The entire slum is badly affected by the presence of Sakkus country liquor shop in the slum. Kamlas (Rajshri) daughter Lakshmi dies because her husband Bishna (Narendra) spends the money at Sakkus place, ment for Lakshmis treatment. . There also lives in slum Santu Baba (Kelkar) a cynical frustrated old man, who has lost his eyes to sakkus illict liquor, moving in the bylanes of the slum like a ghost condemning and denouncing the Sakku and slums way of life. . inspired by Radha and Raju, men, women and children of slum takes a morcha to Sakkus liquor shop and in the climax slum gets rid of the evil of illict liquor once and for all. Sakkus liquor shop is demolished. . The news of this incredible happening appears in the newspaper. Sudhir reads this and arrives at the slum but Radha-Raju refuses to accompany him. Now they have become an integral part of the slum. Ultimately Mama-Mami arrives to take them. They have this time since, they must continue their studies. The slum-dwellers also now understand the necessity of education. They give a very warm and sentimental see off to their beloved Radha and Raju.
