Five years later, Somna and Kailash, while celebrating Bobby's 6th birthday, get a shock when Amar shows up at the party. Watch the impact Amar's presence has on Kailash, Somna, Leela, and Bobby.

"Treat my wife as a special case doctor, for its after 10 years of marriage that we are being blessed with the hope of having a child in our family". Thus pleaded the proud and generous aristocrat Kailash Nath, little realising that capricious fate had ordained an altogether different destiny for him. At a single stroke, death snatched away his wife and his yet unborn child, while an accident maimed him so that he was incapacitated to sire a child for the rest of his life. Dazed at this onslaught of destiny Kailash Nath wandered from place to place seeking solace but finding none. At last his weary footsteps led him to his mountain resort in Pavangiri among the Himalayas. Here Kailash Nath threw himself feverishly into the social activities of the small mountain community and to encourage the adventurous spirit of Indian youth he sponsored the opening of a mountaineering club. Seven long years passed by, Kailash Nath achieved a certain measure of peace and resignation; his mountaineering club grew famous and young men from all over the world came to join in its various expeditions. . One such young man was Amar to whom the call of mountains had proved irresistible, compelling him to come to Pavangiri al the way from Africa. One day this high spirited youth came across an equally high spirited beautiful maiden, Somna, who was tending apples in her orchard. Mutual recriminations led to mutual love, which gradually assumed such proportions that they broke the moral code. Realising that life without Somna would be meaningless, Amar wrote home to his parents informing them about his love for Somna. The delighted parents consented to the match and it was planned that the marriage would take place as soon as Amar returned from his forthcoming expedition. . With a heavy heart Somna bade farewell to Amar as he set out for the soaring heights, but her gloom was dispelled in the preparations of her marriage. Her joy was short lived however. News reached Kailash Nath and mountaineering club, that the four-man team at the last lap of the expedition ha dperished in an avalanche. Among the four-men was listed the name of Amar. . Somna was stunned by the blow. Her ecstasy turned into agony and her life became a frightful nightmare when she discovered that she was pregnant. Beside herself with grief and shame, Somna tried to commit suicide; Kailash Nath, who knew about her love for Amar saved her and offered her the protection of his name as well as the chasity of her person. Kailash Nath and Somna were married but fate had not yet done with them. The same day some Sadhus dug out Amar from beneath the snows of Himalayas and carefully fanned back his breath to life.
