Kamal, who had been educated by his old widow mother, inspite of her proverty is staying now with his newly married ultra-modern wife Mohna right opposite their flat there stays Suder and Geeta. Geeta, in strong contrast to Mohana is an ideal housewife. in the same building there stays Jackson, whom Sunder recognises, that he is Jaikishan of his village, who left Ganga the daughter of Kashi Mausi, on the very first night of marriage. He makes a plan to teach Jaikishan a lesson. . Due to queer habits of Mohan and her pursuit of wasteful pleasures in life a rift starts taking place between her and Kamal. Once, when Kamal is out of staiton, Mohna picks up a quarrel with her mother-in- law as a refult of which she (mother-in-law) is forced to leave the house along with Sharda-Kamals sister. As ill luck would have it the old woman dashes against a car. The owner of the car, Kumar requests them to stay at his place till she fully revovered. Kamal comes back to Bombay, gets shocked to find his mother and sister missing from home. Handing over Rs. 10,000/- to Mohan that he has realised from a customer at Poona on behalf of the Company and he starts for the village. In village he comes to know that his mother and sister never return there ever since they left. He comes back to Bombay and receives shock of his life to know that Mohana has used Rs. 7,500/-out of the amount he gave her. . The proprietor of the firm Kumar comes to know about this. He calls him home and warns him that if he would not pay back the amount within the given time, the matter would be handed over to the police. . Mother and Sharda who is now sentimetally attached with Kumar, hear the whole conversation from their room and quictly leave the house to avoid anembarrassing situation.
