Gumrah 1963

Gumrah is a 1963 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1963. The film is directed by B. R. Chopra, produced by B. R. Chopra under banner named B R Films.

This Is The Story about the girl who crosses her limits. Rajendra & Meena (Sunil Dutta & Mala Sinha) are madly in love with each other. One fine day, Meena's sister visits to mena her family, with the permission of her husband Mr.Ashok (Ashok Kumar). On that day, Rajendra comes to meet Meena's father to ask for her hand in marriage,but Meena's sister Kamala (nirupa roy),who promised to help her with her marriage, dies suddenly.Her grieving husband Ashok doesn't know what to do, and how to bring up their children.Meena's father decides to marry her with Ashok for the sake of the children.As the story proceeds, Meena opposes the marriage but sacrifices her love for the sake of her sister's kids. But she runs into Rajendra in her first anniversary party. Their love reignites and they start seeing each other secretly.Meena's dissatisfaction with her current marriage to a very busy lawyer, Ashok doesnt help matters. Their secret love is at risk when a lady called Miss Leela (Shashikala)turns up at Meena's house claiming to be Rajendar's wife. Leela starts blackmailing a terrified Meena. The film's many unansweres questions and unresolved issues lead up to a dramatic climax.

Chopras melodrama about marital infidelity sees Meena (Sinha), who loves Rajinder (Dutt), forced to marry her widowed brother-in-law Ashok (A.Kumar). Most of the story is occupied by a blackmailer (Shashikala) who it transpires at the end of the film, was prompted by Ashok. The film features some famous Mahendra Kapoor songs (In havaon mein, in fizaon mein; Yeh hawa, yeh fiza; Chalo ek baar phir se ajnabi ban jayen hum dono). ** Down the alleys of hallowed time when the ideals of the Society were being documented and foundations of human behaviour being laid, Shree Ramchandra, (the ideal man) Seetaji,( the ideal woman) and Lakshmanji (the personification of wisdom and humility) were spending the last year of their exile in the jungles of Panchvati. One day Seetaji saw a Golden deer, She was infatuated by its ethereal beauty. She asked Ram to get her the Golden Deer. Ram said " Seete, there are no golden deer and it is not wise to run after illusions". But Seeta would hear nothing of it. She insisted on getting Golden Deer. Ram had perforce to go after the Golden Deer. After sometime voices started coming from the Jungle " Help, Help 1 Lakshman, save me; I am dying; I am dying. Seeta got upset and came running to Lakshman. Said Seeta," Look Lakshman your brother has got into the some truble." Laxman smiled and and replied Mata, Ram does not die and this cannot be his voice". Seetaji became angry and Laxman was compelled to obey the commands of his sister-in-law. Touching her feet he also went the same way Ram had gone. But only a while later, to the amazement of Seetaji he returned. He drew a line round the hut which had been home for so many years." What is this line" asked Seetaji. " This is not a line replied Laxman. " It is the boundary of Home- the sacred precints of Grihastha Inside this line lies the safely of all that a woman loves and cherishes. Her chastity, her love, her Suhag and all that is connected with the purity and sanctity of Home are secure behind this line. So, respected mother, dont you ever cross this line".
