Hai Meri Jaan is a 1991 Indian Bollywood drama,social film released on 1991. The film is directed by Roopesh Kumar, produced by Roopesh Kumar.
This is the story of how a little thing can create troubles in the lives of a brother and a sister. A sister's cede for the sake of her younger bro, creates obstacles in her as well as in the lives and likes of her brother. Hai meri jaan is basically a brother’s revenge to overflow the obstacles coming on his way.Hema and Anand loses their father. But, on his death bed their father wants Hema to take care of her brother, Anand. She dreams of making him a doctor. Anand loves Neelam. She is the granddaughter of Rani Maa who is a rich business woman. Hema takes the profession of singer so that she can collect the amount for her brother’s education. Now after many situations and confusions Neelam’s and Anand’s wedding is approved. Here, Hema likes Gulshan and she also marries him.

Hema (Hema Malini) and Anand Alias Bunty (Kumar Gaurav) lose their father, who is a known classical singer, due to lack of medication. Their father hands over the responsibility of Anand to Hema, who swears to make her brother a Doctor. She brings him up undergoing hardwork and sacrificing her own needs. Anand who meets Neelam (Ayesha Julkah), grand daughter of Rani Ma (Nirupa Roy), a business woman in college. They both are good at their own stake. They had a sort of love hate relationship which gradually turns into pure love. At the other end Hema takes up the profession of singer with a pseudo name Reshma, in order to collect money for her brother's medical college admission.After writing their exams, Anand and Neelam return to their homes, Rani Ma approves of Anand for Neelam,. But in a party, they see Hema/Reshma performing and for that reason Neelam gets angry. She thinks that Anand lied to her. After a lot melodrama. the confusion between the two is cleared and Hema makes Neelam agree for the marriage. In the mean time Anand comes to know that his sister loves Gulshan (Sunil Dutt)and he agrees for their marriage. Towards the climax of the movie the two brother & sister gets their love and Anand gets an admission in the medical college without paying a heavy fee of Rs3 lac.

Pandit Dinanath Shastri a..classical singer once, dies in the midst of poverty, leaving a task of bringing up his son with ten-year old daughter, Hema. Hema sacrifices her youth for the sake of her brohter and pledges to make her brother Bunty a big doctor, who would offer free medical services to the poor, because the non-availability of proper medical attention was the reason for her fathers death. . After toiling hard for several years, Hema manages to send Bunty to college where, incidentally, the latter falls in love with Neelam. Hema is in for a shock when she learns that Bunty has to pay capitation fees to the tune of Rs. three lacs.
