Halla Bol is a 2008 Indian Bollywood drama film released on Jan 11, 2008. The film is directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, produced by Abdul Samee Siddiqui.
Ashfaque (played by Ajay Devgn) is a small town boy eager to be a film star in the Hindi film industry. He accompany a street theatre group run by a reconstituted dacoit Sidhu (played by Pankaj Kapoor), who uses avenue theatre as a medium to bring about an activation in the masses. Ashfaque attempts to give an ingenious vent to the actor in him in order to grasp his dreams. Ashfaq's dogged struggle pays off and he gets a break in films. He gets a new name as Sameer Khan. With the passage of time, he moves up the success proportioning a very short time.Soon, he becomes Sameer Khan the superstar – one who can execute any role with competence, get under the skin of any and every aspect with ease and walk away with crowd applauding him. Amidst all the commendation and applause, he slowly loses his own existence. He blows his real self and assimilates all characteristics of the various roles portrayed by him on screen. Corruption engulfs his entire system, separating him from all loved ones, including his wife Sneak (played by Vidya Balan). A shocking event at a party changes everything, rocking Sameer Khan's standard of living. He gets captured between his human self on one side and his corrupted superstar image on the other.
